The Apple: New Crimson Petal Stories by Michel Faber

Michel Faber's hugely successful The Crimson Petal and the White introduced a host of characters in his Victorian drama, including the prostitute Sugar and the wealthy William Rackham who bought her from the brothel. With The Apple, Faber offers a collection of seven short stories about these characters. Two of them revolve around Sugar, and fill in her story before The Crimson Petal and the White begins. There's also a story about the future of William Rackham and his daughter Sophie after the previous novel concluded. The Apple has received positive reviews with Scotland on Sunday saying, "This superb collection makes you immediately want to take up its predecessor and devour it all over again."
