The Closers by Michael Connelly
The Closers is Michael Connelly's 11th Harry Bosch novel, and he's returned to the LAPD to work on cold cases, old murders which have never been solved. His first case is the murder of a mixed race teenage girl that occurred 17 years earlier. New DNA evidence points to a potential suspect, and as Harry and his partner Kismin begin their investigation, they run up against interference from within the police department. Harry wonders if he was given the assignment so that it would be his undoing. Harry must learn to use the tools that forensics supplies and dig to the find the whole truth behind the murder. The Closers has received positive reviews with the Denver Post saying, "The Closers is the story of a murder, but it is also a story of the grief and loss of innocence that are the collateral damage of crime. Though Bosch always has been a noble character, his conflicted strength of spirit shines more clearly than ever this time."
