The Lobster Chronicles: Life on a Very Small Island
by Linda Greenlaw

Linda Greenlaw, who wrote of her experiences as captain of a swordfish boat in The Hungry Ocean, decides on a career change in The Lobster Chronicles and returns home to Isle au Haut off the Maine coast to fish for lobsters. She moves back in with her parents and rejoins the community with its odd collections of characters, lifetime grudges, and singular goal of fishing for lobster in the coastal waters. She does a splendid job capturing the life on a very small island and showing the backbreaking work that lobster fishing really is. The Lobster Chronicles is ultimately about family, community, hard work, and finding oneself within it all.
