Marriage: A Duet by Anne Taylor Fleming
Marriage: A Duet is two novellas with the same theme, marital infidelity. In the first one, "A Married Woman," William is in his deathbed while his wife, Caroline, tries to deal with all the memories of their mostly idyllic marriage, including his affair years before with their daughter's friend. In the second novella, "A Married Man," David thought his wife, Marcia, was almost perfect until her brief fling for which she was fully apologetic. He finds, however, that he has great difficulty in forgiving her. Anne Taylor Fleming tells these stories of people in love whose caring relationships are tainted by these affairs. It's a book the Philadelphia Inquirer calls "smart, sensual, sophisticated - yet poignantly moving."
