Matchstick men are con men, grifters, those who steal via wit, trickery, or confusion. Roy's teenage daughter, Angie, appears and wants to learn the family business, but Roy would rather go straight. Unsurprisingly, Frankie and Angie convince him to do one more job. Does that sound like a movie script? Eric Garcia's Matchstick Men was already optioned to become a movie with Nicholas Cage before it was even published. The Rocky Mountain News says, "We can only hope that the movie does this thin, but entertaining book justice."
