Moonlight Mile by Dennis Lehane
Moonlight Mile is a sequel to Dennis Lehane's Gone, Baby, Gone. In that earlier novel, private detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro found the missing four-year-old Amanda McCready and returned her to her drug-addicted mother. Twelve years later, Patrick and Angela are married with their own four-year-old daughter. Amanda has lived a promising life, despite her maternal problems, and is a top student at a prep school with the Ivy League in her future. Except she has gone missing again, and Patrick and Angela are asked to find her once more. Although this time, she could have disappeared by choice, although her connection to foreign gangsters doesn't bode well either. Dennis Lehane's novel has received positive reviews with the USA Today saying, "Moonlight Mile is everything that Lehane readers have come to expect: a tight story filliped with unexpected turns, delivered in prose that goes down easily. Compulsively readable, the duo at its heart is well worth spending time with."
