My Name Is Legion by A. N. Wilson
]
My Name Is Legion is A. N. Wilson's biting satire of Fleet Street and British journalism. Newspaper mogul Lennox Mark is the egocentric proprietor of The Daily Legion, and whose wife is having an affair with Mary Much, the queen bee of Fleet Street. Lennox may be the father of a black teenager, but then again, so might Father Vivyan, who was in Africa at the same time as Lennox. Lennox uses his paper to libel Father Vivyan and prop up a tyrannical African dictator. A. N. Wilson, tells the story of how vanity and ambition is used by one man to destroy another by focusing on the depravities of the press to push forward their own agendas. My Name Is Legion has received high reviews with The Guardian saying, "This is AN Wilson's most accomplished fiction for at least a decade and a half. It is a big, broad, sweeping book, as disturbing as it is funny."
