No Way Down: Life and Death on K2 by Graham Bowley
In No Way Down, Graham Bowley tells the tragic events that occurred on the second tallest mountain in the world, K2, in June 2008. An international group of mountain climbers set out to scale its peak, but two turned back because they were running behind schedule. The rest of the group reached the summit, but over the next 48 hours, eleven climbers lay dead on the mountain. A combination of avalanches and poor decisions led to catastrophe. Even those who attempted a rescue weren't immune from the tragedy. No Way Down has received mostly positive reviews with the Associated Press saying, "Bowley wove his tale together after hundreds of interviews with dozens of people, and the result is a triumph of storytelling."
