Resurrection Men by Ian Rankin
Resurrection Men, Ian Rankin's 15th novel about Scottish detective John Rebus finds Rebus sent to a police retraining camp after flinging tea in the face of a superior. With these other "resurrection men" out to save their careers, they're sent to investigate an old murder as a teamwork exercise. It's an investigation that might expose more of Rebus's past than he'd like. Meanwhile, his partner is investigating the murder of an art dealer alone in his absence and the release of a crime lord from prison further complicates events in Rebus's life. Ian Rankin is the UK's top crime novelist and the Washington Post says, "his novels are also skillful, serious and eminently readable."
