The Dark Tower V: Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King

Wolves of the Calla, the fifth installment in the Dark Tower series by Stephen King, gunslinger Roland Deschain returns with the other member of his ka-tet, Eddie Dean, Susanna Holmes, and Jake Chambers. In the town of Calla Bryn Sturgis, most of the children are born as twins, and once every 20 years, a band of horsemen in wolves' masks ride into town and make off with one child from each set of twins. The children are later returned as useless idiots, or roont as the townspeople call them. Roland and his companions are enlisted in the attempt to stop the next visit of the raiders. In doing so, they discover that this helps in their own quest for the Dark Tower. Wolves of the Calla has received mostly positive reviews, with the Philadelphia Inquirer saying, "Say what you will about Stephen King, the man can spin a yarn, and a great one at that."
